A new mobile medical unit was unveiled to the community today in a ribbon cutting ceremony at the fire station.

A new mobile medical unit was unveiled to the community today in a ribbon cutting ceremony at the fire station. The unit that was funded by the Lamar Bruni Vergara trust and the b-c-f-s health and human services organization, will provide state of the art medical care to the residents. The mobile unit cost both organizations a total of 750-thousand dollars but it will provide many services important to those that are too far from the city. For the residents of the colonias receiving health care services can be a challenge. This new state of the art unit was funded in hopes of providing the services for these resident right in their own backyard. The unit is also equipped with technology that does not require a doctor to be present in the unit. He can guide the nurse through the process all the way from the hospital. The mobile medical unit can also be used in the event of a massive emergency in the city. Serving as a command post….providing firefighters with a rehab center to re-energize and cool off. The unit is now available and ready for use for any health services needs in the colonias.
